About Family Haven
Forsyth County Family Haven, Inc. was incorporated in January 1989 to provide safe, temporary shelter, individual crisis support, and referral services for victims of violence. We are a nonprofit organization and a United Way of Forsyth County participating agency. Our services are offered free of charge to all victims of domestic violence regardless of age, sex, race, creed, marital status, or social and economic status. During this past year, we have sheltered 194 women and children. We have answered over 2,090 hotline calls, and made 3,572 referrals to other helping agencies.
Our services extend well beyond our basic mission to provide safe shelter for victims and their children. Our services are based on a philosophy of "self-help" and empowerment of the individual.
All services are provided through the hard work and dedication of our staff and volunteers.
